Our mentoring services enable our candidates to successfully engage with their promotional studies, either on our courses, or courses provided by others which they are currently undertaking such as management NVQ’s or CIOB membership applications (Professional Reviews).
We do this by connecting our candidates to what is being asked of them from the Report Briefs (CIOB applications) and the qualification standards (NVQ) to their working experience. They are then able, in most cases, to authentically meet the knowledge and performance criterias of their studies / applications. If there is a knowledge or performance shortfall, we are able to bridge that GAP with online assistance in the shape of a taught course, via interactive online Q&A assistance or through sound advice.
RivaSure ‘CIOB Professional Review Industry application mentoring system’.
The AIM: The aim of our Management Development Programme is to assist and mentor construction learners and professionals, meeting them where they currently are in their professional development and taking them as far as they wish to develop, culminating as an active Chartered Member of the CIOB.
The Problem: The English Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) has stated that full membership with the CIOB is comparable to gaining a bachelor’s degree. This statement is enough to perhaps frighten most Construction Managers as primarily our experience has shown that the majority of construction managers have developed their expertise as they have risen through the ranks and that they do not possess on average an academic background.
The Solution: RivaSure is primarily in the business of assisting non academics to gain professional academic qualifications. To this aim we have developed a ‘CIOB Professional Review Industry application mentoring system’. This service is open to candidates that have completed a Construction Management level 6 or level 7 NVQ and follows a similar fast track system to that which we have very successfully used on our CSCS Profiled Route Fast Track programme.
The Method: Our online mentoring programme unpacks the Competence ‘Report Briefs’ section by section and gives clear and concise guidance on how to respond, direction on content and for those wishing added support, literacy tuition and feed back so that they might submit their applications at an acceptable standard. Following this guidance and support, candidates are able to choose the best examples from their working histories to meet each Competence Report brief.
