Renewing your CSCS Card Route by the NVQ & CIOB Development Route
The question I am often asked by our CSCS black card profiled candidates is: Can I renew my card? My answer is, renewing your CSCS profiled route black card is always at the discretion of the CSCS. From our experience it seems that if a candidate applies for renewal whilst there is at least 6 months remaining on their card, then the answer is yes! If a candidate applies after their card has expired then it is in our experience that the answer will be no. However, if the answer IS yes this time then the answer on renewing a second time in 5 years will definitely be no.
My advice for managers who find themselves in this situation is to take the renewal ambiguity out of the CSCS organisations hands by completing a Construction Management NVQ 6 and via the assessment route.
I am then asked how much does it cost to do a management NVQ with RivaSure? Currently I can quote a price of £1500 excluding vat. You will pay 50% on enrolment and 50% on completion.
